Here are some tools to utilize when
assessing global skills and competence:
Asia Society!Their Center for Global Education provides professional development, educator resources, and other ideas on Global Competencies.
Though I also use the Common Core State Standards, I have pretty much centered my entire World Literature class around the Asia Society's Global Competencies. I believe those abilities to Investigate the World, Recognize Perspectives, Communicate Ideas, and Take Action are essential for our future global citizens. Below is a link to more information on their rubrics and outcomes:

World Savvy! This national education program educates and engages youth to learn, work, and thrive as responsible global citizens.
I haven't utilized this website, however it seems like it would be extremely useful. Not only does it provide a Global Competence Certificate program, but also provides an awesome Global Competence Matrix. Any teacher in any subject can utilize this simple tool. Below is a link to it:

TakingITGlobalAn organization that focuses on global issues by promoting awareness and engagement among global youth.
Their Global Education Checklist is wonderfully concrete, detailed, and complete, and I am hoping to utilize it more in my curriculum, school, and community. Although it's more for teachers, schools, school systems, and state education agencies, I believe it could be super useful for classrooms too. This organization seems like it provides a ton of tools, resources, ideas, and projects in Global Education. Below is a link to the checklist:
